Why We Must
The adult I/DD population of Florida has been forgotten. There’s a significant need for this community in Palm Beach County, especially, which has the third-largest I/DD adult population in the state, but no independent living community.
More than 500,000 Floridians are diagnosed as I/DD.

Florida currently ranks #49 in the nation in caring for citizens with I/DD.
This is the first generation of individuals with I/DD who will outlive their parents, creating an unprecedented demand for supportive housing.

More than 8,000 I/DD adults in Florida are waiting for a decent place to live.

“Affordable, accessible housing is a critical need for all members of our community, and especially for those with disabilities. The IDDeal Place will not only provide much-needed homes but also create a sense of belonging and inclusion for individuals with I/DD.”
-Commissioner Marci Woodward
District 4 representative on the Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners
