The IDDeal Place is a sanctuary for independence, security, and a profound sense of belonging for adults with mild to moderate intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). This is a community where they can enjoy the quality of life they deserve.
About The IDDeal Place
The IDDeal Place is an independent housing community for adults with mild to moderate intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). It will consist of Residential Building #1 with 18 beds, Residential Building #2 with 6 beds and overnight housing for two staff members, a Director’s House, and outdoor spaces for passive recreation and socialization.
Located on a 3.27-acre site in Palm Beach County, FL, The IDDeal Place will be the county’s first
independent living community for adults with mild to moderate I/DD, and only the eighth housing development of its kind in Florida.
The IDDeal Place is a philanthropic housing initiative born from the partnership between the IDDeal
Foundation and the Pulte Family Charitable Foundation, with additional support coming from government
agencies, corporate partners, private donors, family offices, and foundations. Together, these organizations
are working to meet the critical need for long-term housing solutions for adults with I/DD, providing them
with a future that offers independence, dignity, and security.
Residential Building #1
Will accommodate 18 medium to higher functioning adults with I/DD.
Residential Building #1 is the largest structure on campus, spanning over 18,000 sq. ft.
The six, three-private bedroom suites will each include:
- A private bedroom
- A private bathroom and shower
- A desk and chair
- A dresser
- A television
- A reach-in closet
Each of the three residents in a suite will share:
- A kitchen with a cook-top, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, and a dining table
- A family room with comfortable lounge chairs and a TV
- A washer and dryer for laundry
- A private, screened-in patio
A large community gathering space will include:
- A teaching kitchen with a large island and seating that includes a cook-top, dishwasher, sink, microwave / oven
- Two round dining tables for community dinners
- A lounge area with comfortable seating
- Two offices for staff
- Two multi-purpose rooms
- Two meeting rooms
- Restrooms
- A reception area
- A covered front porch
Residential Building #2
Will accommodate four higher-functioning adults with I/DD and overnight housing for two graduate students.
The Residential Building #2 spans over 12,000 sq. ft.
Each of the three residential suites will include the following:
- A private entry to each suite
- Private bedrooms
- Private bathrooms and showers
- Desks and chairs
- Dressers
- Televisions
- Reach-in closets
Each of the residents in a suite will share:
- A kitchen with a cook-top, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, and a dining table
- A washer and dryer for laundry
- A family room with comfortable lounge chairs and a TV
- A private, screened-in patio
- A private, entry from outside
Director’s Residence
The IDDeal Place’s Director’s Residence, will house an on-site director and family. The residence is approximately 3,000 sq. ft. and will serve as their full-time residence.
The residence will include:
- Three bedrooms with two and a half bathrooms
- A complete kitchen with island and large dining table
- A great room with lounge chairs and couch
- A large, covered rear porch which will allow them to entertain the residents and staff of The IDDeal Place
